Please join NüVoices in NYC for an afternoon of readings, raffle prizes, and karaoke!

We’ll be sharing a preview of our new website revamp, as well as ways to get involved with our online magazine, podcast series, and events with our local chapters in NYC, DC, Toronto, London, and Taipei.

This special event will be hosted by longtime NüVoices board members Megan Cattel and Jessie Lau, alongside AAJA NY, who will also share opening remarks and readings from their personal essays and creative work.

Participants are warmly invited to ask us questions about our upcoming essay contest, online writing workshops, and how to get involved with our events and activities. All are welcome!

Special thanks to Accent Sisters and Asian American Journalists Association’s NY chapter for partnering with us and making our fall fundraiser possible.

About Us
NüVoices is an editorial collective and nonprofit dedicated to promoting gender diversity in writing, research, and journalism about China.

Founded in 2018 and supported by Patreon donors, NüVoices is an independent not-for-profit organization.

We heartily welcome the involvement of people of all genders, including those who identify as non-binary, and the many good men who already support our mission and contribute to our cause. NüVoices is trans-positive.

Our directory of more than 600 international female experts on Greater China is a popular tool for journalists and event organizers. The directory has significantly boosted women and minorities’ representation in media stories and conference programming.

Our twice-monthly podcast regularly features women’s and minorities’ voices on a range of topical issues. The NüVoices Podcast has been named by numerous publications as one of the best podcasts on China today.

Our online magazine NüStories regularly publishes narrative essays, event reviews, articles, multimedia projects and other original content — reaching audiences all around the world.

The submissions form for NüStories online magazine pieces is here.
