NüStories
We are looking for writing (fiction and non-fiction) and visual submissions to our digital magazine NüStories from persons of all genders and backgrounds. The aim of our online magazine is to provide a platform for creative work that highlights diverse voices on China subjects.
NüVoices team members are all volunteers, and thanks to our generous donors, we are able to offer honorarium for accepted submissions. We work closely with creators to help them develop quality content, and their pieces are promoted through our social media networks. Some of our pieces have been read, shared, or re-published by reputable news outlets, publishing professionals and specialist organizations.
We encourage creators and like-minded non-profit community groups to reach out about how we can cross-post your book launch, media and art projects, or research with general appeal.

Guidelines:
-
- We are looking for a variety of text content including reported features, narrative essays, op-eds, tutorials, Q&As, fiction, translations and listicles. Since we do not have the resources to edit more ambitious reportage for the website, we ask that reported pieces be succinct, with links to sources included. In your pitch, please also include one or two ideas on what visuals can be used to accompany your piece.
-
- Visual submissions such as illustrations, photography, and videos should be accompanied by a short text component providing context.
-
- We ask that text pieces should aim to be no more than 1,400 words. Visual submissions should be of high digital quality but smaller than 1.5 MB jpg.
- Please include a short bio, with links to any social media, along with your submission.
